There is a free trial, its password protected, and it protects the computer time so no one can change it without the password. Starting the second day when the kids started their machines the program was giving an error and setting the timer to 1 minute. I called the 1-800 number provided and when a man answered he said he could not help me but some one from IT would send me an email. That was weeks ago and still nothing. I've since called back several times but always get voicemail and they have not returned one of my calls yet. Since I'm now beyond the 30 day refund period I guess I have to just live with it and find another program. Live and learn... Review by THOM JONES: FANTASTICIt's a shame that BPS went out of business. Powertools Pro for AOL will always be a great program. Of course any spyware program will report it as infected because it IS a keylogger; meaning that's what it was programmed to do. It logs chat rooms and instant messages, which can be enabled/disabled. What I used it for, though, was the beautiful feature that I call 'perma iggy'. When you right click on a user in a chat room that you want to ignore, you click ignore then Powertools kicks in allowing you either add the name to just the chat room OR instant message, OR you can simply add to both. Think of this program as "wavman on steroids" because it does all that wavman does, only much better! You can play wavs in a chat room alot...
