I did a head-to-head comparison with all of the other registry cleaners and RegVac ran circles around them finding 48 more items than the best registry cleaner. Review by Nicole: If something ever happens to the software, your on your own. They won't respond to emails or answer the comments made on the web site. Review by KC: I downloaded and installed a trial version of Registry Mechanic and was rewarded with a slew of junk malware secretly installed on my PC. It took multiple scans using two different spyware apps to detect and clear out the crap. I have never experienced such an infestation; stay away! Review by Ron: Made my vista unbootable. I had to use rescue mode from my vista ultimate disk to access system restore point. Very dangerous software. All kinds of problems appeared after running it--Windows would not shut down, programs crashed, etc. Luckily the restore feature got it more or less back to where it was. It claimed it needed to repair close to 4,000 registry errors--more than 10 times as many as either of two competing products. Red flag there. Like 2 other reviewers, vendor did not respond to a refund request. They have supposedly "independent" web sites touting this product, don't fall for it. Agard: the free download is not a trial such as I thought it would be. you can not get any results of the scan, until you pay for the 1 year subscription.After paying I never got the results of good or bad files. I dont know if it backs up and restores safely and automaticcally. You should be able to have a free trial for at least 5 days. I requested a refund (according to their 30 day no questions asked) a week ago and am still fighting for it. (1/5 - 8-Dec-2007) Review by Streve Zeoli: The first warning sign not to use this program was the submission to me of an unworkable License Key after I paid. When finally received, no apology. The program, if you can call it that, is blindly aggressive. It chooses key files necessary to run other programs. It even singled out the removal of a competitive program. Doesn't live up at all to its ads. Tried the PC Tools Product and found their program to be more carefully selective of what was suggested to be removed and their ad contained much less hype and lived 100% up to their claims.
